Build your own AI agent

In one session, from explanation to a working agent. First you understand what AI really is, then you build your own Q&A agent in n8n with guidance: it finds answers in a knowledge base and can even send an email. You go home with something you built yourself.

What you have at the end

No theory for theory's sake. You go home with a concrete result you built yourself.

A working Q&A agent

By the end of the session you have a running agent you built yourself: it answers questions from a knowledge base and can send an email.

Built in n8n

Visual and low-code. You now understand how an agent is put together, because you made it yourself.

Take it home

You take your agent home as a template/export, plus a summary and a list of sources to keep building.

Beginners

Without a technical background, who want to understand AI by doing it themselves. No prior knowledge needed.

Teams & departments

Who want to take a first, accessible hands-on step with AI together.

Curious doers

Who don't just want to hear what AI can do, but want to have built it themselves by the end.

What do you get?

So you can continue on your own after the workshop

Your own agent

The agent you built yourself, as a template/export to keep working with.

Summary

The key points from the talk, to read back at your own pace later.

List of sources

A selection of tools, sources and next steps to keep building on your own.

Alignment beforehand

We tailor the examples in the talk to your organisation. Includes a short preparation call.

What you learn

Accessible and free of jargon, because this is for beginners

What is a (language) model

Under the hood, explained in plain language. How does such a model actually work?

Closed vs. open source

OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Copilot (closed, data goes to the vendor) versus Llama, Mistral, DeepSeek (open, data stays within your organisation).

What is an AI agent

From a standalone model to an agent with a role, knowledge and actions. The model you pick matters less than what you build around it: the thread towards part 2.

Compliance & the EU AI Act

Trust, not a brake. Concrete privacy scenarios (pasting an export with personal IDs into free ChatGPT, shadow IT) and what the EU AI Act asks of you.

Build it yourself with n8n

n8n is low-code and visual: you drag blocks, you don't write code. You build a Q&A agent that finds answers in a knowledge base, with source citations, and that can even send an email.

Step 1

A question comes in

Someone asks the agent a question in the chat. That kicks off the flow.

Step 2

Search the knowledge base (RAG)

The agent first searches your own documents for the right passages, instead of just guessing.

Step 3

Answer with source citations

The agent answers based on the sources it found, with references, and makes nothing up.

Step 4

Send an email

The agent can also email the answer. From a question box to something that actually does something.

Guidance guaranteed: Stefan walks around, no one gets stuck.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any technical background?

No. The workshop is specifically for beginners. We build in n8n, a visual low-code environment where you drag blocks instead of writing code. Stefan guides everyone step by step.

What should I bring?

Your own laptop. We take care of the working environment and the guidance.

How big is the group?

Because it is hands-on building, we work with 8 to 20 participants, so there is enough guidance and no one gets stuck.

What does the workshop cost?

The workshop starts from €2,500 excl. VAT for an in-company session. The exact price depends on group size and duration (2 to 4 hours). Request a quote for a tailored proposal.

Will my agent keep working after the workshop?

You take your self-built agent home as a template/export, along with a summary and a list of sources. So you can continue with it after the workshop.

Is the workshop also suitable as the start of an AI literacy programme?

Yes. This is the accessible, hands-on entry point into AI literacy: you understand AI because you built it yourself. For a broader tailored programme for your organisation, see Custom Workshop.
